Amendment to 40mph buffer zone

Amendment to 40mph buffer zone

We're pleased to report that RCC have now amended the start of the 40mph buffer zone on the Knossington Rd end of the village so that it now starts before the bend at the Knossington Rd junction. See the attached image for details.

Thanks to the Highways Dept at RCC for listening to our concerns.

Brooke Rd appeal decision

Braunston Parish Council has been notified by the Planning Inspectorate that planning consent has been given for 30 houses on Brooke Rd. The Parish Council is now considering Braunston's options.

New bus services

From the start of August Braunston will be included in Rutland's new on-demand bus service - Callconnect. The service has been operating in parts of Rutland since April this year, and is now being rolled out to the rest of the county. This 'book a bus' service is scheduled according to passenger journey requests - you just need to give a minimum 1 hour notification of your journey requirement.

40mph buffer zone

40mph buffer zone

After many years of campaigning, we are finally going to get a 40mph buffer zone at each end of the village, which will hopefully help to slow down the through traffic.

The proposal for the western end starts after the Knossington Rd junction; there is a view that it should be extended westward so that this historically dangerous junction is also within the 40mph zone. You can email highways@rutland.gov.uk...

The Parish Council is delighted to report that the decision to allow up to 30 houses on Brooke Road, Braunston has been quashed by the High Court. The Planning Inspectorate will re-determine in the coming months.
